San Felo is located almost halfway between the towns of Porto Azzurro and Rio Marina, from which it is respectively km. 4.5 and 7.5 km and it is at an altitude of about 100 metres. It is not a small village or hamlet but a geographic hilly area, land once inhabited by farming families; their presence has bequeathed some important "manor houses" in the area, as well as many other remnants which include peasant houses, warehouses and ruins, which over time have been renovated; an area halfway between residential and agricultural was thus formed with beautiful houses scattered among small vineyards, "vegetable gardens", donkeys and sheep, an ideal location for tranquillity, peace, intense perennial greenery, good air and a view of the sea. It is a less crowded and touristic part of Elba, more secluded but also well connected to all services and facilities, close to a ferry port, the historic village of Rio Elba and also close to the marina of Porto Azzurro with its cafes, restaurants. and a lively square facing the sea.
THE SAN FELO PROPERTY
In 1997 a plot of land of about 4 ha was purchased including 4 ruins in a state of complete abandonment. Three of these formed a small hamlet, three country houses with the old farmyard in the middle; the fourth was in a more detached position. The ruins were then partially recovered or completely rebuilt, the land subdivided and split up; currently three houses have a common entrance via an electric gate, the fourth has a separate entrance. The houses are lived in by different families. The electrical, plumbing, waste water, diesel and heating systems are completely autonomous for each house.
